Andrea’s first thought was to achieve her goals without busting her bank budget. She found both in Panama. Ageless Wonders Panama is a health tourism company based in beautiful, warm Panama, providing medical access to services for tourists and business travelers. Says Andrea L. from Louisville, Kentucky, “The advantages in going to Panama for elective procedures are that a vacation can be taken along with the procedure and it still costs less than if performed in the U.S.”

Savings, accessibility, and effective treatments in a number of medical fields are the focus of medical providers and collaborations between providers like PlacidWay and Ageless Wonders Panama. Every consumer should have a choice regarding medical and health and wellness care, even if those treatments or procedures are elective.

Healthcare solutions that provide consumers not only in the United States but around the world through access such as PlacidWay offers more choices and options when it comes to personal care and needs, as Andrea, and others like her, found out.

Skin care
Orthopedics and pediatric orthopedics
Weight Loss surgeries

Why not combine one of the most beautiful destinations in the world with the best in wellness therapies that include spas, alternative therapies, oriental medicine, and aesthetic medicine combined with four and five star hotel lodging accommodations and vacation packages? Andrea did, and reaped the benefits of both.

Ageless Wonders Panama offers access to certified, qualified, accredited and experienced physicians and surgeons for, among others, dermatology and skin care, general and laparoscopic surgical procedures, general dentistry, fertility treatments, and procedures in obstetrics and gynecology.

I think the personal attention was great. I feel I received the same amount of time, attention and care as I would have in the U.S. I healed quickly and feel great. Definitely, I have already recommended Panama as a medical tourism country.”

Home health care can be provided for people of all different ages, It is also very helpful for senior citizens when the family or additional help does not live nearby. Most folks do not like staying at hospitals or any place where they feel couped up. People want to be close to home and near the people that they love.

One of the nice benefits of stay at home health care is that you have your own familiar surroundings and still get the same or better care that you would get at a hospital. Many home heatlh centers were probably started with the thought of personalized care in your home. There is no place like home.

Home nursing plans are easy to find by looking through newspapers and by searching for them on the internet. . A lot of these plans include the care that you would want at your own home and some offer additional benefits to go along with that.

Some benefits include the same high technology you would get at a hospital utilized in your own home. Patients can also receive the same treatments at home without the hospital trip. These days just about everything is available using an in home care service.

There are many different types of home health care companies available to choose from these days which give you the benefits of the home health aide treatments and similar treatments that used to be only available at hospitals. Of course, make sure that you do your own due diligence in selecting the care facility that meets your needs. Check for the services required to make care at home worthwhile. Yet, insure that the price is within budget without losing any of the services that you would expect to receive.

In this day and age, if you can think of a service, it is available. When it comes to something as important as home health aide and care, know what your needs are. Do not settle for less. Get the personalized care you always wanted at home.

Home health care can provide you with services in the comfort of your own home; these services are generally coordinated by a home health care agency. Some of these services include skilled nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology services, and medical social services as advised and ordered by your physician. Additional home health care services may include personal care, some housekeeping, meal preparation, and general health management. Home health care can help facilitate staying in the home for senior citizens and disabled individuals.

Home health care agency staff can teach you and your caregivers to continue care such as wound care, therapy, and disease management. If you are leaving a hospital or skilled nursing facility, the discharge planner can help you to set up in-home care.

In order to be eligible for Medical coverage, the health services used must be both reasonable and necessary in the treatment of an illness or injury. A certified Home Health Care Agency may provide the following services:

Part-time or intermittent skilled nursing care by a registered or a licensed practical nurse
Personal and occupational therapy
Speech-language pathology services
If you are receiving skilled care or other therapy from the home health care agency, you may also receive part-time or intermittent home health aide services
Certain medical supplies that are part of your care, including wound dressings
Durable medical equipment such as a walker

Choosing a right home care agency always turns out to be a headache as there are so many referrals and recommendations that it becomes really difficult to choose the right one for your elders. There is no dearth of information pertaining to Home Health Care Agencies. One can refer to search engines on the internet or look up phone directories or contact information providers or get references from the family doctor. But the best way to choose the right agency is to ask people who have utilized home health care agencies as they have first-hand experience. Moreover, if they are recommended they are probably more reliable and good. In the event of not knowing anyone who has availed of home health care services it is best to interview caregivers from a few agencies and shortlist the best.

Besides taking into consideration word-of-mouth reputation and the services required, one should also consult the insurance company that is going to cover the expenses of the treatment and care. It is more convenient and advisable to contract with a Home Health Care Agency which is listed with your insurance company, provided the agency in question offers you what you are looking for. This avoids cumbersome paperwork and complications.

<img alt=""personal care"" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4090/5164390054_21f3dddf3b_m.jpg" width="160"/>

Home health care can help cancer patients stay in the comfort of their own homes while receiving care. Being at home contributes to an atmosphere of comfort and security. While hospital stays can lead to feelings of isolation, loneliness, and decreased responsibility, staying at home allows cancer patients to stay connected with family and friends and enjoy more freedom to choose daily activities. Home care carries both advantages and disadvantages for patients and caregivers. Sometimes in-home care can create new challenges for those involved. It may also bring about changes to relationships or require family members to cope with aspects of patient care they otherwise would not have seen. It is important that patients and caregivers prepare for these obstacles. Most importantly, caregivers should be conscious of the patient’s health, needs, and treatments.

Home health care services may be administered by doctors, nurses, home health care aides, or even family members. If you are considering home care, you should discuss your loved one’s needs with his or her doctor and ask whether they can be met by home care. Get information about the types of home care services the patient will require and discuss these services with the people who will be managing care.

Use of a home health care agency is usually necessary when the person has advanced medical needs. Research home health care agencies in your area to find the one that best fits your needs. Most agencies provide home health care aides who can assist with personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and general health management. Services may also include visits from nurses or social workers and access to medical equipment.

It may also be helpful to hire independent Home health care providers rather than an agency. TheCaringSpace.com is an online resource that helps cancer patients and other care seekers make connections with qualified caregivers who can provide in-home services. The site is especially useful for hiring independent home health care aides. If you are paying out of pocket, using independent home health care providers is usually less expensive than hiring an agency. However, you will have to manage payment and scheduling yourself.

There are many public and private sources that can help patients pay for home care. Apart from these, you can seek help from government agencies or cancer treatment organizations that could help and guide you toward arranging the best in-home health care for your cancer patients. For more information regarding in-home care services and agencies and the care of cancer patients you can refer to www.TheCaringSpace.com.

Simple tasks such as housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation, opening a jar, or driving to appointments can become increasingly difficult for many older patients. Personal tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and even transferring from the bed to chair can become unmanageable and painful alone. Many types of individuals, including those who are trained and supervised by agencies, provide such health care services. In general, home care providers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and they may work by themselves or as a team on a shift, part-time, hourly, live-in, or on as per needed basis.

While some home healthcare Towson agencies provide health-oriented services, it is important to know the difference between non-medical home care and home health care. Home health care is more specialized medical care, such as that services provided by nurses or physical and respiratory therapists. The health care providers are trained medical, health care and psychiatric professionals, or certified nurses’ aides. Home health services are usually ordered by a physician and may be covered by health insurance. The types of services available for seniors at living at home

Homemaker services- this include help with cooking, light cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping and other household chores.

Personal care- Help assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toilet use, grooming and eating.
Companionship- from daily phone calls from a buddy to a daily friendly visitor to round the clock paid companions.
Home health care- this includes skilled care that is nursing, speech, occupational respiratory and physical therapy, home health aides, social work or psychiatric care.

Once you’ve hired a capable home care provider, it may happen that a problem arise, so in this case discuss it with the care provider first. If the problem does not resolve matters then talk to the agency; if you’ve hired the provider through this route. If the care provider is independent and you cannot resolve the problem after repeated discussions, you may need to find a new care provider. If you suspect some kind of fraud or other criminal behavior then report it to your state’s Department of Health and the Better Business Bureau. Remember to read contracts carefully, check all references, and consult with someone you trust before finalizing and signing on the dotted line.

In Home HealthCare Towson services is the best solution for all your problems concerned to Elder Care because after a certain age, people can’t make themselves with most of the everlasting tasks. They may require external help for executing everyday tasks. In case if they are facing up some kind of illness then situation gets worse. Whether your grandparents or parents who require proper Care at Home then Home Health Care is the best solution of Elder Care issues.

<img alt=""personal care"" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4092/4845346124_b060637f04_m.jpg" width="160"/>

Ever since we were born we were taught to stay clean. Wash your hands, bath daily, and make sure to wear clean clothes are some of the basics taught to children. These are all necessities, for sure things that we all have to do, but the products we use are a different story. We definitely need to stay clean and hygienic, but what we choose to do so with is up to us.

When choosing products in your daily health or skin care routine, you have to be careful. Those beautiful smells that come in your shampoo or body lotion might actually lead to some very serious conditions. It has been proven the fragrances in your personal care products contain close some of four thousand synthetically produced chemicals that can cause nervous system problems or even cancer. On top of that you are applying most of these products directly on your skin, probably one of the most absorbent parts of your body, which is a direct link to your blood stream. Another factor to consider is the actual ingredients involved in specific products. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are specific ingredients in almost all cleansers that foam. What these elements are reported to do is weaken the immune system and cause developmental issues with small children.

My favorite toxic chemical that is included in a large amount of skin care products is Propylene Glycol. The specific additive is also an active ingredient in anti freeze and can weaken protein and cellular structures. Any product with Propylene Glycol in its makeup is probably not the best to apply directly to your skin. These I listed above are just a few of the factors that manufactures put in their skin care and personal care products that they sell to general public.

Along with all the dangers out in the market, there are the perfectly safe and potentially beneficial ingredients involved in skin care. Ingredients made from plants and naturally occurring processes are the safest bet when looking at skin care products. Anything containing Shea Butter, a key ingredient in some skin care products that lifts and tones the skin while repairing it, and Aloe Vera, probably one of the best elements out there in the fight against acne and other skin conditions. Perhaps you’ve hear of Olive leaf extract, which is a powerful antiseptic and astringent, or Chamomile oil extract which is a well documented anti inflammatory. Any of these above had no signs of side effects that I’ve seen or read and come from a very clean organic origin.

It is very important to be aware of this when purchasing for yourself or your family. A suggestion would be to become very aware of what is potentially out there ready to be consumed by the masses. Even though we may not save everybody from hidden chemicals and dangerous additives, by at least educated one person the chain can be started. Talk to your friends and family about the importance of knowing your ingredients and possibly, these harmful elements can be dismissed from our skin care products for good.

Alliance Home Health Care, one of Indiana’s fastest growing senior home care service providers, has signed a licensing agreement with My Health Care Manager which gives Alliance rights to market the company’s elder care management program in Central Indiana. Doing business under the name Alliance Care Advisors, the agency exclusively will market geriatric care management services directly to caregivers of the elderly as well as senior adults living at home or in nursing homes, senior living communities or assisted living facilities. The agreement is projected to increase Alliance’s revenue by 20 percent over the previous year. Additionally, Alliance plans to aggressively expand its workforce, above its current 250 employees, to accommodate anticipated market demand.

“Alliance Care Advisors is a much-needed addition to the home and personal care services we’ve been providing to our elderly clients for nearly 20 years,” said Janice K. Roberts, founder and administrator of Alliance Home Health Care. “This new division provides our clients and their families with the expanded support system, expertise and resources they need to better navigate the many health care, personal, social and financial complexities associated with aging.”

Registered nurses (RNs) serve as geriatric care advisors who specialize in senior care and care-giving issues. Services are customized for each client’s unique situation and the caregiver’s desires. Counsel can be provided as needed or on an hourly, weekly or monthly basis and may be covered by some long-term health insurance policies. Short-term, crisis management services also are available.

For the senior client, advisors can monitor, document and coordinate their health care including maintaining provider contact information; transporting to and scheduling of health care appointments; review of therapy regimens; management of medications; and facilitation of social service needs. Advisors also assist with a wide range of common challenges for the caregivers of senior adults including insurance and financial issues or the evaluation of residential options.

In addition to offering senior adults a knowledgeable, unbiased and compassionate health care advocate, these advisors also can keep family members apprised of their loved one’s health status. Elder care advisors document and provide updates as they occur — including changes in medications or treatments from physicians and other medical personnel — to family members (with permission from the senior) through a secure, easy-to-use Web site. This enables family members, especially those who live at a distance or have multiple demands on their time, to take comfort in the level of care, treatment and advice that their parent or loved one is receiving.

The U.S. Census Bureau projects that by 2015, one out of every five Indiana residents will be over the age of 60. Alliance Home Health Care is not only meeting the needs of today’s elderly, but also has anticipated the needs of this fast-growing Boomer population by creating specialized services to help adults who need assistance as they grow older.

About Alliance Home Health Care

Alliance Home Health Care, established in Indianapolis in 1991, is one of the most experienced licensed and certified home care and elder care providers for senior adults offering geriatric care management; home care nursing; home-based occupational, speech and physical therapy; social work and non-medical personal home care and senior companion services on an hourly, 24-hour, private duty, full-time, part-time or intermittent basis. The company provides services, personnel and resources that enable individuals to remain in the safety and comfort of their own homes for as long as possible. Alliance is one of the only Indianapolis-area senior citizen health care service providers to offer customized, one-to-one training and educational programs for diseases such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Everyone, at some time in his or her life, will need to seek medical care. The American health care system is a billion dollar industry, and it discards people that can’t afford its services. The current health care system is divided into two groups–health care for the insured and no health care or limited care for the uninsured. The kind of medical and personal care that an individual receives under the current American health care system depends on the person’s insurance status. In the land of equal opportunity, segregation is still practiced. Many practitioners refuse to work with uninsured people, and won’t allow them to pay for medical care on a monthly payment plan. This additional exclusion prevents thousands of Americans from obtaining necessary health care. The American health care system has become so convoluted and expensive that American citizens are forced to seek health care outside the United States. Places like Argentina, Singapore, Manila, Bangalore, and Costa Rica provide high quality, low cost health care to American citizens that America should be providing to its own people.

Believe it or not, America boasts some of the world’s best doctors, the most advanced health care system, and the most technically superior resources in the world, bar none. Those who travel globally and have gotten sick know that their first choice for treatment would be in the U.S. Though health care in America is, more expensive than any other country, many of the worlds wealthiest come to the U.S for surgical procedures and complex care, because it holds a worldwide reputation for the gold standard in health care. One of the greatest mis-conceptions some people have relied on with regard to the health care debate is that, given a universal health care system, every person in the U.S. would receive the highest quality health care – the kind our nation is renowned for and that we currently receive.

Though our nation’s economy has recently lost millions of jobs, the health care industry has continued to add them. Not surprisingly, unions are eager to sign up health care workers. In the last 10 years, the rate of union wins in the health care industry has grown faster than the national average. Unions are uniting to lobby for labor-friendly legislation to promote increased union membership in the health care sector. The following article provides an overview of the major unions involved in the health care industry, as well as strategies to ensure your organization is prepared and remains successful. The coalition also encourages workers to unionize on an industry-wide basis, consolidating smaller unions within larger unions.

<img alt=""personal care"" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4029/4461277359_c456a0821c_m.jpg" width="160"/>

Have you been following a plan for your own personal hygiene, or do you get up in the morning, take a bath, brush and blow dry your hair, use the bathroom through the day, and go to bed at night? If you only do the latter, you need to put more planning and preparation into your personal care and grooming.

Cleanliness is seen nowadays as next to Godliness, and neglect of your own personal hygiene may cause health and social problems of which you are not even aware. Bad breath, for example, is a common problem–the perpetrator is often accused of it, but he or she may not be attending to it. Problems such as dandruff are forgivable, but good looks are usually the result of great care and attention paid to personal grooming. You should put some time and effort into it if you want to feel and look your best every day.

All external parts of the body need time and attention. Below is a partial list of the body parts which you should be taking care of with your grooming plan. Here are some tips as to how to attend to your most common and ordinary daily grooming needs.

HAIR

First of all, keep your hair at a length and style which you can properly maintain in a cleanly manner at all times. Wash your crowning glory at least twice per week, using a mild shampoo devoid of borax or alkalis. It is not a good idea to use soap, as it can leave a fine film of stickiness in your hair. Shampoo is meant to wash totally out of your hair. Be sure and carefully towel dry your hair after you wash it, and be cautious with the blow dryer. You don’t want your hair to become too dry and brittle. Especially if you have long or thick hair, brush it three to four times per day, using a soft bristled brush or wide toothed comb. Be sure to wash your hair grooming tools every time you wash your hair. And oil your scalp with grooming oil once per week, preferably one hour before you wash it. A hot oil treatment is fine–if you know exactly what you are doing.

Hair coloring or dye is not recommended, as no current dyes have been found to be completely safe for long term use. They contain chemicals which can seep into your scalp and even cause premature hair loss. So we recommend not using hair dye if possible. Also, try not to wear a hat for a very long period of time. Wearing hats has also been shown to cause premature hair loss. Redheads need to be particularly concerned, as they are subject to early hair loss.

SKIN

A good bath once or twice per day is essential for cleanliness and good grooming. You should always bathe after any strenuous physical activity. Mild soaps are best, and you don’t need to use a germicidal or antiseptic soap unless you have a medical or “smelliness” problem. Bath brushes, bath sponges, and mildly abrasive scrubbers are recommended. You must also pay special attention to your genitals and anal area, as lack of care paid to these can lead to serious infections–as well as an inadequate sex life. Rinse yourself thoroughly after washing, and be sure to use a dry and clean towel to properly dry yourself. Don’t ever share towels, try not to share bathing equipment, and wash all of your equipment after each bath. Putting a teaspoonful of bleach in one gallon of warm water, rinse your bathing equipment in the water, and then under warm running water. And always change into completely clean underwear after each bath.

It’s good to use a fine organic moisturizing oil or cream every day, especially as you get older. Put it on at night to avoid that sticky feeling, and so as to not attract dust and filmy dirt throughout the day.

TEETH

Brush your teeth two to three times every day, or after meals or snacks as needed. It’s important especially to brush right before bedtime. Pay attention to getting rid of the food particles stuck between your teeth. Flossing is highly recommended over toothpicks for this. You only need about a pea sized dab of toothpaste on your toothbrush. When brushing, brush down on the upper teeth and brush up on the lower teeth, using a circular motion. Also, brush the inner as well as the outer surface of your teeth, and before you brush each time, carefully brush your tongue.

Your toothbrush should never be shared with anyone. It should have resilient bristles, and it should be well rinsed and left somewhere completely sanitary to dry after each usage. Try to use organic toothpaste, one that’s completely safe and free of harsh abrasives or strong antiseptics. Baking soda has been found to be a very effective substitute for toothpaste, if you don’t mind its strong flavor.

HANDS

You should always be washing your hands. There’s no such thing as too often. Use a good hand cream if they become dry. Pay attention to your fingernails when you wash your hands. A good nail brush placed near your bathroom sink is a sound investment. Use soap every time you wash, and always wash before and after meals–and after you go to the bathroom. Many infections such as E. coli are caused every day by people who don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom. You should also keep washing your hands while preparing meals.

NAILS

Your fingernails completely replace themselves every five to six months. You need to keep them well trimmed, and preferably buffed and polished too. Men can buff their nails and use a nail shining tool instead of polish to give their nails a healthy glow. Women may of course polish their nails with beautiful colors, which can hide the discoloration that comes with age. Clip your nails to the length you want them, but don’t ever trim too close to the skin. If your nails chip easily, consider adding more protein to your diet, as finger and toenails are all made of protein. Eating gelatin can work for this.

Very brittle, highly yellow or discolored nails can be a sign of a serious health problem. Please see your doctor immediately if you have this. Also, do not always keep your nails painted with polish. This can lead to stripping of the natural keratin of the nails. Also, either go out or give yourself a home manicure and a pedicure once every couple of weeks. Be sure and buy a very good manicure kit for this purpose.

FEET

Many people take no care whatsoever of their own feet, usually to their detriment. Always keep your toenails clipped, shaping the nails but not cutting too close to the skin. Always give your feet a good scrubbing with a pumice stone or mildly abrasive brush when taking a bath, and before you put on your socks, dry carefully between your toes. Try wearing a clean pair of cotton socks every day; this will pamper your feet and keep them dry and not smelly. Powder your feet after you take a bath. Try not to wear the same pair of shoes every day, and alternate wearing your shoe pairs. And make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Comfort and safety should come before stylishness. High heels can lead to the shortening of important calf muscles.

DEODERANT

Your underarms don’t emit an odor until you hit your preteens. That’s when your apocrine glands, which are located under your arms and around your genitals, begin to function, producing a milky, oily type of perspiration. Bacteria then thrive in this sweat, causing the familiar underarm odor.

To control strong odor, you can wash daily with an antibacterial soap such as Lever 2000. You should always wear clean clothes that are free of staining and sweat. Use a deodorant that is also an antiperspirant, which will dry up moisture in the armpits. Cut back on your caffeine intake-it puts your apocrine glands into overdrive. After a bath, dust yourself liberally with a fine talcum powder. Always drink plenty of water, both to flush your system of toxins and to regulate your bowels. This alone may end some problems you may have with “smelliness.”

TANNING

Getting a “healthy tan” is not considered to be healthy anymore. Now doctors are telling us that you shouldn’t mind your pale skin. Skin cancer, which is often deadly, is not a fair trade for good looks. When sunning, protect your fair skin with an at least SPF 30 sunscreen lotion. Keep your skin oiled and moisturized during the summer, and don’t bother with the “bronze look.”

BODY HAIR

Around puberty, your hair follicles respond to hormones raging in your body. You can end up with hair around your belly button, on your back, near your breasts and for both women and men, on your upper lip. If it’s especially coarse, show your doctor, as you may have a treatable hormonal imbalance. Some such “peach fuzz” is normal for girls, and if it seems unsightly to you, you can try bleaching or removing it. Nair is known to be a gentle permanent hair remover.
