It is always the best way to stay safe because it is a preemptive tool that can stop any number of bad things from happening to you and your family long before they become a real threat. This way, you are sending message to all those people that are out there doing bad things to other people that you are protected and you want them to know that. So they should not even think of causing harm either to you or any other person in your family.

Deterrence is an idea that be employed in many ways for safety purposes. One very good way to put this idea to use is by putting a nice sized sign in your front yard that says in very large print that you have a home security system installed in your house. This type of warning can be very effective in keeping people that you do not know out of your house because long before they even walk onto your property, they are fully aware that your home is well protected and that should you try to do anything that is out of line, the authorities with be alerted immediately and that you will have to answer to the police.

Another good way to deter any burglars that are thinking about breaking into your house is by putting alarm company stickers on all of the accessible windows on your house. This is similar in nature to putting a sign in your front yard, but these signs serve as a second warning for those who did not take the sign in the front yard seriously and were still thinking about breaking in anyway. These window stickers say, ” we really do have a house security system and it will sound if you try to get into this house through and window.”

As these two mechanisms of deterrence are very effective in keeping unwanted people off of your property and out of your home, there is one very important issue that must be clarified. It is not effective to just put a sign in your front yard and put alarm company stickers on all of the accessible windows at your house. You must also really have a home alarm system installed and functioning correctly in your home. With out the actual home alarm system installed and working, you have no real protection from burglars or any other people who want to break into your house for any reason.

If you only have the front yard sign and the stickers on the windows, you only have the illusion of protection. It might deter some burglars from trying to enter your home but you personally should not feel any safer than you would without either the sign, stickers, and home security system, because there is nothing truly protecting you from the people that want to cause you and your family harm.
