February 15, 2010 – Through the brutal economic climate of 2009, most businesses found it tough to grow and prosper – but Senior Helpers, the nation’s fastest growing provider of in-home care for seniors, is a remarkable exception.

2009 was a banner year for Senior Helpers, as the company saw revenue swell more than 225 percent and its number of total franchises increase by over 25 percent, for a total of 280 individual locations in 39 states at year’s end. This strong growth and expansion helped Senior Helpers climb Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 list for the third consecutive year – landing at No. 2 on the magazine’s “Top New Franchise List” for 2010, up from No. 7 the year before, and ranking No. 27 on the “Fastest Growing Franchise List,” up from No. 33 at the beginning of 2009.

“When we founded Senior Helpers in 2001, we knew there was a growing need to give seniors high quality care in their own homes,” says Peter Ross, CEO of Senior Helpers. “The senior care industry is growing, and that trend is projected to continue for years to come. Our franchisees are some of the best in the industry, and our company’s accomplishments would have been impossible to achieve without their full commitment to and faith in Senior Helpers.”

Over the past year, senior care has remained a resilient sector of the national economy.

Reasons for Success:
Senior Helpers was able to pair the industry’s momentum with a growing desire among aging adults to stay in their own homes. One recent survey found seniors fear going to a nursing home more than dying.
In this shaky economy, in-home care is a much more affordable solution for senior care than assisted living communities and nursing homes.
Numbers from The Federal Interagency Forum on Aging Related Statistics show a rapidly aging U.S. population. Predictions indicate one fifth of the total population will be 65 years of age or older within 20 years.

“So far, our timing and our execution have proven to be successful in establishing Senior Helpers as a recession resistant business with the ability to grow,” Ross says. “We’ve developed great tools and support programs for our franchises, which enable them to thrive and allow the system as a whole to prosper. These rankings and recognition from Entrepreneur Magazine are a tremendous source of pride for all of us, and they position Senior Helpers as a dynamic national leader in the senior care industry.”

<img alt=""personal care"" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1313/5164397126_8c98a5babb_m.jpg" width="160"/>

Are you worried about potentially toxic ingredients that lurk in body care? True, you want great looking skin… but not at the expense of your health. If you’re like me, you want to feel good about the products you slather on your skin. In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding skin care ingredients, is it even possible to look great without compromising your health?

The answer is… yes! Absolutely. You can maintain your health and peace of mind by choosing all natural body care. Natural skin care is not only safe, it’s effective also. But with so many products on the market, how can you be sure the products you buy are really natural?

That does pose a problem. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) states there are more than 10,500 different ingredients in personal care products… far more than the widely publicized “parabens” and “phthalates.” And many of these ingredients have never been tested for safety. The long term health effects of this chemical soup are simply unknown. Some experts contend that exposing your body to these untested chemicals – day in and day out – is gambling with your health.

Product Labeling

It’s not always easy to distinguish safe, natural products from their potentially toxic counterparts. The problem lies in the lack of regulation. In the United Sates for example, there are no definitive guidelines for what constitutes a “natural” ingredient. Therefore, the contents of a so-called natural skin care product may in fact be anything but.

The term “natural” is widely overused by manufactures. Many companies use the word as a marketing ploy. The intention is to instill a (often undeserved)sense of trust. Yet many natural and even some organic skin care lines contain suspicious chemicals.

With few exceptions, such as color additives and active sunscreen ingredients, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not oversee the ingredients that are used in personal care products. The FDA becomes involved only if there is a report of someone being harmed… after the product hits the market shelves.

The policy, as stated by the FDA, explains that:

“Unlike drugs, FDA does not require pre-market approval for cosmetics. However, if a safety problem with a cosmetic product arises after it has been marketed, FDA can take action to obtain the manufacturer’s safety data on the product.”

Furthermore, according to an FDA representative, no standards exist for the term natural. Whatever the manufacturer determines is natural can legally be labeled as such.

This leaves the industry wide open to unscrupulous business practices. It’s up to you, the consumer, to investigate products before you purchase. With over 10,000 unique ingredients to investigate, this can be a huge task!

Don’t be duped by a few herbs listed on the label. The addition of natural herbs, plant oils, and other botanicals does not equate to “all natural body care.” Nor does it mean the product is safe. There can be countless other ingredients in the mix… some of which could be toxic.

Choosing Natural Body Care

With so many ingredients and thousands of products to choose from, how can you identify the good from the bad… products that are actually safe for you and your family? According to Judi Vance in her book “Beauty to Die For,” you can eliminate 95% of brands by avoiding these three ingredients:

*Color additives
*Synthetic fragrances
*Petroleum derived substances

Read the label. There should be a statement such as “Made with 100% Natural Ingredients.” A declaration that the company has signed the “Compact for Safe Cosmetics” indicates that all ingredients have been tested for safety (but may not be all natural).

It lets people know:

• How healthy you are,
• How much confidence that you have in yourself
• A lot about your own personal hygiene…

This is hard wired into our brain to indicate to us what kind of person someone is.

Most people waste their hard earned money on products with big promises – yet don’t stand up to the test.

Agel Enterprises is known for its proprietary blend of gelceutical nutrients and has answered the prayers of many of its customers, by formulating a skin care line called Agel Ageless Skin Care. This was designed after their staple antioxidant product Agel EXO. After realizing that EXO is great for nutritional value taken internally, many of Agel’s customers started requesting a skincare product based on this product.

With the help of the creator of Aveda’s Personal Care Line, Agel developed an entire line up of seven unique products. Each product alone brings dynamic results to its users, but with all seven of the products combined in a system, your skin will be breathtakingly rejuvenated quicker than you would imagine.

The Agel Ageless Skin Care line is made up of all natural ingredients derived from potent antioxidants such as grape seed and pomegranate extract. This will help slow down aging and keep you looking youthful and aging gracefully, beautifully and healthfully.

Most Recommended Tips for Agel Ageless Skin Care: How to Look Younger than Ever Without Any Painful Procedures! http://www.dietbuzzer.com/blog/category/balanced-diet

The products in the line are:

• Anti-Aging Gel Serum… to help firm your skin, reduce lines and wrinkles, and bring your skin back to its healthy natural color…

• A Gel Scrub…to gently remove dead skin, exfoliating without the painful acid wash…

To accompany these two main products, there are five others in the Ageless Skincare line to keep your skin looking refreshingly beautiful. These are:

• Daily Cleansing Gel Formula…so you can wipe off the day’s make-up, plus all of the other impurities that the environment forces into your skin.
• The Anti-Oxidant Misting Gel… which will hydrate your skin, plus gently remove the day’s worth of dirt and grime from your skin.
• The Agel Age Defying Eye-Gel… keeping the area around your eyes looking as refreshed as possible – smoothing the little worry and squint lines that have developed over the years.

• Nourishing Night Gel… to add nutrients to your skin, rejuvenate the production of collagen, giving your skin more elasticity, and helping you produce more healthy cells…
• The Daily Moisturizer… to get you through an entire day, plus help fight toxins with the added antioxidant vitamin E.

An RCFE is typically a home like yours or mine that has been converted to a care home and is licensed by the state to take care of seniors. Most RCFE’s are set –up to provide care to 6 seniors; however they can be smaller or larger in size.
RCFE homes were the first widely recognized form of assisted living, and as such, they provide similar care but typically not as much social interaction.

Residents of a RCFE Home have a private or shared room and may have private or shared bathrooms. The rooms usually do not include a kitchen, since providing meals is a major function of the home. RCFE homes generally have some common areas for socializing which include a dining area and one or more other rooms that are mainly for informal contact.

Some but not all of the key Characteristics of RCFE home are;

1 Activities of Daily Living (dressing, personal care, bathing, incontinence care)
2 Meals served (usually communal style)
3 24-hour supervision (around the clock staff but not necessary Awake staff)
4 Community Services (laundry, cleaning, etc.)
5 Health Services (medications management and dispensing, diabetes care)
6 Overall Health (physical, emotional)

As with any type of senior community understanding what community is right for your loved one can be a daunting task. For over a decade Always Best Care has been helping our seniors through this process. Let Always Best Care guide you through the health care maze. Our Care Coordinators are local and have personally viewed most RCFE homes in your area.

Nonmedical home care, for the most part, means companionship. But it also includes things like meal preparation, errands, medication reminders (but not administration), grooming, transportation, light housekeeping, activities and basic personal care services. Bottom line is, it’s having someone around to help make the client more comfortable in their own home. How much care someone needs depends on the individual. Sometimes it’s just a few hours a week to give a break to a family member who’s providing the

majority of care. It can also be a live-in situation or someone who comes daily. Nonmedical home care businesses can also provide services for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, as well as to individuals recovering from illness, rehabilitating from surgery or injury or who are new mothers.

“There’s a tremendous need for nonmedical home care, and it will continue growing,”

“It’s estimated that about 80 percent of family members caring for aging and frail loved ones at home suffer from depression as the burdens increase,” she says. “There’s a tremendous need for more competent, nonmedical caregivers. As more people live longer, baby boomers age, and the need for this kind of help at home keeps going up, we face a shortage.”

The longer someone can remain in his or her own home, the happier and more enriched that person’s life will be. Nonmedical home care agencies exist to make that happen, with companionship and services geared toward helping those in need—and their families—make the most of precious time.

We have introduced this service because we already clean for a lot of eldely people.

Are you concerned about your ageing mother or father, uncle or aunt, grandmother or grandfather? Do you find it difficult to set aside specific time towards their personal care? Do not feel guilty. No doubt you are doing your best to be there for your elders in any way you can in the fast-paced and over committed life that you lead in today’s busy day and age. You might consider setting up your elderly loved one in an old-age home. But what they consider home is where they currently reside and chances are that you would be pulling them away from their neighborhood friends, church, and social group, and their cherished memories of life in the house they have lived for so many years now. There is a solution to this problem and the solution is termed ‘in home care for seniors’. That is correct; there are various services out there which serve your elderly loved one right in their homes and all at a cost that is nominal and affordable as well.

These caregivers provide a wide spectrum of senior home care services that includes personal care in the form of help with daily chores like bathing, washing your hair or getting dressed; homemaking in the form of helping with routine household chores like washing clothes, cleaning the dishes, mopping the floor and gardening; cooking or delivering food and the most important of all healthcare in the form of skilled nursing, physical or respiratory therapy, psychiatric care and home health aides. You also have a plethora of senior caregiver support groups that render support for issues regarding old age, companionships, diseases, grief support and many others that fall into the relevant categories pertaining old age.

If you are someone who is separated by a distance from your senior loved ones you might want to consider arranging for them what is called a live-in help that would ensure that there is help 24/7 for your elderly who needs constant attention as advised by the doctor. A well trained professional stays with your loved one and takes care of household chores, medical care, meal preparation and other services that are not related to health care. It may cost more to have round-the-clock services for in home care for seniors but depending on the situation it is the most appropriate level of care, especially if you think your older relatives are not capable of taking care of themselves to a great extent. On the other hand, it is rather economical to hire professional for in home care for seniors for a couple of hours a day as compared to moving into an old-age home. You could hire a particular agency or an individual. While the former is a bit more expensive, it ensures that anyone entering your elderly loved one’s home is thoroughly screened, extensively trained, insured and bonded, matched to your preferences, professional and reliable. An agency will handle the payroll payrolls of the senior caregivers and provide coverage for sick or absent caregivers.

Kenneth Gardner explains about the Thieves Kit by Young Living Essential Oils. www.KennethGardner.com It’ Kenneth, and I’m here today to tell you about the Thieves Kit by Young Living Essential Oils. The Thieves Kit is a collection of products for personal care and cleaning, and the products are based on the Thieves essential oil blend, and I have a separate YouTube video on the Thieves oil blend that you can watch. First I’ll tell you what the Thieves Kit has in it the essential oil, toothpaste, mouthwash, household cleaner, foaming hand soap, spray, and hand purifier. The Thieves Kit is one of the kits you can use to establish your Young Living account. That’s important to do because you will get wholesale price, which is 24% off, if you establish your account with one of the kits. Another kit you can purchase is the Everyday Oils Kit, and I have a separate video about that. The instructions for getting started, step by step, are on my YouTube channel page. People are trained by advertising to use chemical cleaners, chemical cleaning products, which harm the environment as well as our health. But the Thieves products are actually beneficial to your health when you use them. We are also trained to use chemical personal care products. They have chemical ingredients that are toxic to the body. Even the ones that aren’t officially recognized as toxic may nevertheless be toxic. Even products from the health foods store have toxic ingredients. The philosophy of Young Living …
